Staffordshire & Stoke-On-Trent School Games
The County netball festival compromised of 10 primary school High 5 netball teams representing each School Partnership across Staffordshire competing to become Staffordshire County High Five & School Games Champions. The netball teams were placed into two sections, each playing one match against the teams in their group with the top two progressing to the semi-finals. Young leaders from local schools put their skills to the test with some officiating and scoring. The young leaders were also mentored under the supervision of volunteers from the Staffordshire County Netball Association. The fixtures progressed, showcasing the counties best netball talent. The atmosphere was great with lots of smiling participants and support from spectators on the viewing balcony. Once the fixtures had finished it was then time to add up the scores…

The Sainsbury's School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport. The Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, at county/area level and a national finals event:
• Level 1 - sporting competition for all students in school through intra-school competition
• Level 2 - individuals and teams are selected to represent their schools in local inter-school competitions
• Level 3 – the county/area will stage multi-sport Sainsbury's School Games festivals as a culmination of year-round school sport competition
• Level 4 – the Sainsbury's School Games finals: a national multi-sport event where the most talented young people in the UK will be selected to compete in our sporting venues (including the Olympic Park in 2012).
Netball is played at the schools games; school years 5 and 6 play High 5 netball and year 7 play traditional 7-a-side netball. At present the highest event for Netball is Level 3; The Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent School Games.
