On the 8th and 9th April Fenton Manor, Newcastle Town, Stafford and Tean Valley netball clubs came together to host a touring Australian party at Stafford Sports College and St Joseph’s College. The event was an outstanding success with everyone wanting the tour to last longer and not wanting our Australian friends to leave.
The players from both sides played some excellent netball on both days and the spirit of the event was top class - a credit to all involved. The Staffordshire club girls even hosted their Australian counterparts over the 2 nights. The guest Australian team were coached by ex Australian international Sue Gerrard and Alix McDermott who played for Manchester Thunder NSL last season.
Hopefully this can be a regular event and we have already had invites to go to Australia - the dream is on!! Congratulations to all players, parents, coaches, umpires and volunteers for making it a great event.
