After the close match between North Staffs and Tean Valley Shooters in the first round of the Under 16A division matches, both teams had very different results in the second round. North Staffs had another close game but this time came out victors by a 5 goal margin against Fenton Manor. Robyn Spibey, playing in defence for North Staffs, made it very hard work for the Fenton Manor shooters. Tean Valley Shooters, however, were not at their best versus a strong and determined Stafford Diamond and lost by 11 goals to 27. Hannah Newman was the Tean Valley star player.
In the second round of U16B division matches, Newcastle Town Lightning and Stafford Sapphires took the honours. Jade Spencer for Lightning was in sparkling form as they put 30 goals passed the Newcastle Storm defence. Danni Brereton starred for Storm. Jessica Turner was very energetic in the Tean valley Blades mid-court but that didn’t stop Stafford Sapphires from scoring 21 goals to Blades’ 12. Sapphires’ Alex Stewart made it particularly difficult for the Blades’ shooters to get near to the post.
Stafford Sapphires maintained their winning streak in round 3 when they beat Newcastle Storm by 26 goals to 7. Ellie Statham starred for Sapphires in this match while Ella Williamson starred for Storm. The other U16B match was a much closer encounter- Newcastle Town beat Stafford Emeralds by 14 goals to 11.

Elaine Prinsloo had an excellent game at goal attack for Tigers to help her side beat Fenton Manor A in close fought match, 17-13. Rosie Teague was Fenton’s star player. Katie Edwards worked hard in defence for Stafford Diamonds, restricting Harriers to 9 goals while her own team scored 26. Lindi Sibanda was Harriers’ player of the match. Tean Valley Stars beat Newcastle Town Panthers by 24 goals to 15-Molly Slaney working well to link the attack and defence. Georgina Hill was Panthers’ star player. Lizzie Griffiths played a central part in Diamonds’ third match of the season when they beat Newcastle Panthers by 23 goals to 7 despite the hard work of goal attack, Katie Quayle.
There have been 6 matches in the U14B league- Fenton manor B have had 2 wins against their own C team, 16-0 and Stafford Emeralds, 19-1. Martha Longley and Izzy kerr shone for the B team while Mutsa Munyani and Jasmine Hesslegrave were star players for Fenton C and Emeralds. It was the battle of the centres when Jess Southern from Newcastle Town pumas and Chloe Bradshaw from Lightning took the court. Jess’s team had the better game and won by 16 goals to 8. Newcastle Town Lions won 16-0 against Fenton Manor C. Amber Bradbury, goal shooter for Lions, shot accurately for Lions. Ellie Sorsby, Stafford Sapphires, and Evie Gordon, Tean Valley Lightning, both played well in attack for their teams as Sapphires took the honours, 17-6. Tean Valley Thunder won their second game of the season when they beat Stafford Emeralds by 13-5. Goal attack, Laura Oakes, was in good form for Thunder. Sophie Turner was Emeralds star player.
Newcastle Town Bears and Eagles won both of their matches. Bears beat Fenton Manor 23-4, Isabella Boughey making it very difficult for Fenton’s attackers. Olivia Dudley was Fenton’s Player of the match. Goal keeper, Elisha Maxfield worked hard to close down Stafford
Diamonds attack as they ran out 11-9 winners in a close fought game. Annie McGeown was Diamonds’ star player.
